To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, The Scholarship Collective created a list of scholarships with a focus on the Hispanic Community. These are meant for Hispanic individuals pursuing higher education who may need extra financial assistance, and most are funded directly by organizations which seek to uplift and support Hispanic communities directly.

1. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarships

Description: SHPE believes the most pressing problem facing the STEM industry is that the workforce has yet to reflect the diversity of our nation. We are bridging the gap between Hispanics and STEM.

Amount: $25,000

Eligibility: HS Seniors, Undergraduates and Graduates, US Citizen, 2.8 GPA Minimum, HIspanic, Computer Science Academic Interest

Deadline: April 9, 2024

2. Latinos in Technology Scholarship

Description: Although Latinos represent 28% of the total population in Silicon Valley, only 3% are in the high-tech workforce. With 39% of the K-12 student population identified as Latino, we know their talents and perspectives have the potential to transform STEM fields. We seek to do more than level the playing field. We aim to change it.

Amount: $30,000

Eligibility: Undergraduate, 3.0 GPA, Hispanic, Computer Science Degree Program

Deadline: February 28, 2024

 

3. HITEC Foundation Scholarship

Description: We’re dedicated to investing in the next generation of Hispanic technology professionals.

Amount: $5,000

Eligibility: Hispanic Heritage, HS Senior or Undergraduate, 3.0 GPA, Technology Major

Deadline: April 14, 2024

 

4. Hispanic Scholarship Consortium Scholarship Program

Description: In collaboration with member organizations, benefactors, professional groups, colleges, universities and dedicated individuals, the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (HSC) provides sizable, renewable scholarships.

Amount: Varies

Eligibility: Hispanic Heritage, 2.5 GPA, Plans to Enroll as Full-Time Student

Deadline: April 30, 2024

5. HSF Scholarship

Description: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers funding to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a university degree.

Amount: $500 - $5,000

Eligibility: Hispanic Heritage, All Fields Accepted (STEM Priority)

Deadline: February 15, 2024

 

6. LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Description: Each year, The LAGRANT Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate ethnic minority students who are attending accredited institutions and are pursuing careers in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations.

Amount: $2,500

Eligibility: Minority Status, Full-Time Undergraduate Student, 3.0 GPA, Major in Advertising, Marketing or PR

Deadline: February 29, 2024

7. Esperanza Scholarship

Description: Esperanza, Inc. (meaning “hope”), began in the early 1980s as a community project to improve the educational opportunities for Hispanics by motivating and recognizing academic achievement through scholarships.

Amount: up to $7,000 for Community College; up to $16,000 for University

Eligibility: Non-Native US, Establish Financial Need, Graduating HS Senior or GED Earner

Deadline: March 16, 2024

 

8. Latino Social Work Coalition Scholarship

Description: The Latino Social Work Coalition provides scholarships to Latino/x/e and bilingual students with significant economic need who are entering their 2nd or 3rd year pursuing a master’s degree in social work (this includes advanced standing, OYR, extended students).

Amount: $1,500

Eligibility: Hispanic Heritage, 3.0 GPA, Participate in CORE Mentorship, Commitment to Working with Latino and Underserved Communities Upon Graduation

Deadline: April 28, 2024

9. GMiS STEM Scholarship

Description: Great Minds in STEM is an organization that enables Hispanic and Latino students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to be leaders in the national STEM community.

Amount: up to $5,000

Eligibility: Undergraduate, Graduate, STEM Field, 3.0 GPA, Two Letters of Recommendation

Deadline: April 30, 2024

10. LULAC National Scholarship Fund

Description: The League of United Latin American Citizens provides a national scholarship designed to empower members of the Latino community by making college enrollment more obtainable.

Amount: up to $2,000

Eligibility: Undergraduates, Graduates, Personal Essay 500 words, Financial Need Demonstrated, Community Involvement Demonstrated

Deadline: March 31, 2024
